Rates and Fees
Prices are in Canadian Dollars
Square Inch Price
Edge to Edge quilting rate start at 2.0 up to 3.5 cents per square inch (including allover free motion designs).
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .030 = $144.
Semi-Custom Quilting rates range from 3.5 to 5.5 cents per square inch. This would include an allover motif within the main body of the quilt and separate border designs. Price is dependent on the density of the design.

Full Custom Quilting rates start at 7.5 cents and can include ruler work, stitch in the ditch, individual block motifs, border motifs, and background fillers.
Example: A quilt top is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .075 = $360
*Please note that the turn around time for custom quilting can be up to 3 to 6 months
**There is a minimum quilting charge of $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.
Batting
I currently carry Hobbs Heirloom unbleached batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend and 100% cotton. If you would like a speciality batting such as wool, bamboo or silk just let me know and I am happy to purchase for you.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch. I do keep a roll of 108 inch wide batting in stock for larger quilts.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton @ $0.55/in = $35.75
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.40/in = $26.00
Thread
I stock both Glide (#40 & #50 weight) and some So Fine (#50) threads. I don't charge any extra fees for thread use, it's included in your square inch price.
My personal style attempts to match or blend thread color with the lighter areas of your quilt. But this is YOUR quilt! Let me know if you have a preference on thread color.
Shipping
Shipping your top and backing to me: I live in Ontario, Canada, and would be happy to receive your top and backing by mail. I'd recommend sending your materials enclosed in some kind of sack or bag to protect against possible moisture in transit (I like to use resealable bags and or clear unscented recycling bags, sealing the edges with packaging tape) and then placed in a hard-sided cardboard box. Make sure the box is securely taped and labeled clearly. I am also happy to arrange pickup/drop off within Durham Region, for those that live locally.
Return shipping: I will send your quilt back to you in the manner described above via Canada Post Priority Shipping (if not arranging to pick up locally). Priority mail comes with $100 of insurance and a tracking number but please indicate on your intake form if you would like me to buy any additional insurance on your behalf. It's a great idea to insure your valuables against loss or damage while with the Postal Service, but I don't require it.
